Pilot Name:I/KG26_Evil AircraftType:HE-111 Target Duties:Riga Airfield Targets Destroyed:0 Mission End Status:Landed Safely Points:0 Mission Debriefing: Take off was from Libau, was 3rd in a flight of four 111s with Wulf leading Loki second and Alpha pulling up the rear.Target for the day was Riga airfield. We were taking 2000kg bombs for the drop.We agressed out on a ne(roughly 75) coarse climbing out to 4500m.Formation was good except Loki was having minor engine problems making him a little slower than rest but we had him in full site at all times.Flight to the target was uneventfull with no enemy planes being spotted on our route. We set up the bomb site for 270kph with TAS at 320 and alt 4500M.We had set up earlier our designated areas on the airfield to hit.i was on the outside right pad.In the bombsite all looked good with the target tracking good. After the drop picked up the flight leader and agressed away from the target.Heard over the radio the rest had dropped and were forming up.I didnt see any hits all looked good for the drop.On the way home seems Loki had fixed his bugs and i had aquired some as i was lagging behind. All aircraft looked undamaged and landed safe.Oh yes flak was very heavy over target

We turned right away from tgt taking heavy 85mm flak somehow were all survived the onslaught from the ivans artillery. We all made checks for damage and reformed on the way home for Libau. after approx 15 mins I saw enemy in the distance over Schrunden looked like Pe2's rtbing to Riga

Pilot Name: I/KG26_MadJek Aircraft Type:JU-88A4 [Loadout 2xSC500kg bombs 18x50kg bombs 75% fuel] Target Duties:Destroy tanks near Olai & Jaunolaine [W-22] Targets Destroyed: 3 Tanks 2 AAA guns & 1 Radio Truck Mission End Status: Landed at Schrunden Points: 265
Mission Debriefing:
Took off from Aerodrome in Schrunden with HK_Grayray & I/KG26_Diesel. The three of us headed to sector W-22 to attack tanks that were reported held up in the area. After becoming airborne, My crate and Grayray's tucked in behind Diesel. (Diesel had a heavier fuel load and we figured it would be easier for us to stay with him.) I formed up on Diesel's 4 o'clock and Grayray stayed high and on his six. We headed to target at an approximate heading of 85' while climbing to just around 1300m. On our flight to target, we noticed 2 cons in the O-22 sector flying east on a similar heading. My beobachter kept an eye on them until they eventually went out of sight. Meanwhile, we were getting closer to our target sector. Just before we arrived at target, Diesel devised a plan with him going in first to identify the targets, then directing myself and Grayray at the tanks in successive runs. We flew over the town of Olai and were unable to spot the tanks. As we came closer to Jaunolaine, I was able to see the tanks at the northeast corner of the town. They were stopped in a line astern pattern (east to west) just off the main road. Diesel gave me the go ahead to hit them, but I deferred to Grayray, as I was to high and to close to make a successful run. Being farther back, Grayray was able to line up on them and make a successful pass hitting one tank and sending it's turret a good 10 meters off the ground. I contacted Grayray over the radio to let him know I was on his 9 o'clock now and would make my run from east to west on the tanks. Grayray stayed on his course to give me a good read on what heading to follow in. I cut inside and made my run on the tanks. I dropped and pulled up over the roof of a few houses in a nearby neighborhood. Just as I started to gain altitude, my rear-gunner called out hits on the remaining tanks. We reported in to Diesel, who said he was checking the main road further north towards Riga. We then notified the He-111 in Riga that the tanks were down and were going to head south along the Main road looking for targets of opportunity. Our Group was spread out somewhat, with Diesel in the lead, Grayray behind him, and myself in the tail-end Charlie position. Diesel radioed that he was coming up on the airfield in Mitau. Both Diesel and Grayray noticed several aircraft on the pads. After some discussion, we agreed to hit the Airfield with our remaining ordinance instead of searching up and down the main road for supply columns. I tried to inform Diesel of the location of the small caliber AAA, as I had flown to this airfield a few days ago in a Ju-87D3 with JG2001_Doso. I told Diesel that the AAA was located on the corners of the northeast pad. He confirmed this by saying that they were firing at him. Shortly after this I saw a plume of smoke in the distance and was unable to bring Diesel and his crew up on the radio. Grayray and myself continued on with the attack on the airfield. Grayray circled the airfield drawing the flak as I made a run from the southwest of the airfield on a AAA gun. I was able to drop a small stick of bombs on the gun and no longer received fire from that emplacement. However, there was numerous large caliber flak bursts going on all around my crate. I circled around the airfield in a counter clockwise manner and as I was doing this, Grayray commented that the small caliber AAA was still on him. I proceeded to make a run on the small caliber AAA gun in the far northern corner of the northeast pad. I dropped a small stick of bombs on it, with no result. I again swung around in a counter clockwise manner and tried to pull flak for Grayray. The AAA gunners seemed to be intent on getting Grayray and his crew. They were continuously firing at him. I lined up my crate on the small caliber AAA again and this time was determined to send those Ivans to Valhalla! I made my run, dropped my small stick of bombs, and waited for my rear gunner to call out hits. Just as he called out the demise of the gun emplacement I saw pieces of Grayray's plane coming apart. His plane began to smoke and went into the earth... Just as this happened, a single enemy aircraft was coming into view. It appeared to be a MIG. I headed west. The fighter must not have seen me, or wasn't in any condition to fight. After seeing it proceed northeast, I swung back around and made a run on the radio tower. I went straight in and dropped my remaining bombs on the tower. As I swung back around, and headed west, I saw out of the corner of my eye that the tower was a burning pile of rubble. I also saw another MIG. This one appeared to be landing at Mitau, as it was slow and losing altitude. I continued west back towards Shrunden as fast as I could go. On my way home, I noticed my starboard engine was smoking. While continuisly monitoring my temperature gauges, I was certain I could make it back to base. As I arrived over our home aerodrome, I saw our flight leader in 1H-AL on final approach. I followed him in and parked alongside. Our crews exchanged stories on of the days mission. When we saw JG26_Without land at our base we had a cold beer, or two, waiting for him.
