Pilot Name: II/KG200_Loki Aircraft Type: Bf-109f4 Target Duties: CAP Targets Destroyed: 8 A/C Mission End Status: Landed at Tummuk Points: 800
Mission Debriefing: Took off as flight of 4 with Raven lead, plane 3 was myself and Grayray in plane 4. Flew to various altitudes ranging between 4000m and 4300m. Gray spotted 4 a/c at 9 o'clock. we turned to them and engaged, they were I-16s. While we were fighting 4 more I-16s and MIGs came in high. We stayed engaged covering each other. Lost Gray around this time... Raven and myself fought off the rest of them. Proceeded to Riga. Put up a CAP over Riga while bombers came in.. Towards end of CAP Raven took a Flak hit, minor damage... We continued CAP till bombers out of area, at this time Laggs and IL-2's came in.. engaged them, Raven Used all his ammo and RTB, i fought a while longer and tried to help Doso until i bingo ammo then i rtb. While RTB 2 laggs engaged me, i crossed them up a bit and made a run for Tummuk. Raven was at that drome trying to get AAA to kill his tail.. I arrived at aero with my two tails and was jumped in the mess waiting for aaa to shoot straight. AAA downed 2 of the planes, Raven gave me the OK to land as he chased the remaining, we flew around a bit and he chased the remaining Lagg for a lil bit more, then the Lagg left. I landed safe and Raven landed no gear... Mission done...I believe i got 4 i-16s, 1 IL-2, 2 Laggs and 1 MIG, but not sure... I wouldn't have got any of these without Raven dropping in to take care of bandits on my tail that i didn't ever see... THX Mate....

Pilot Name: I/KG26_Diesel Aircraft Type: JU 88-A4-41 1H+AL 2-SC 1000 BOMBS 75% Fuel Target Duties: Air Field Targets Destroyed: 0 Mission End Status: Bailed Out Over Tukkum Air Base Points: 0
Mission Debriefing: We have just arrived today at our new air field and we are already being asked to fly a mission. My crew is very green, I do not know if they will be able to fly this mission without all of us getting killed. My bother who was just killed in action flying a JU-88 Bomber told me to avoid enemy fighters, anti-aircraft flak and bombing enemy supply columns. I think he was trying to tell me to stay home in the Fatherland. I have been told we will have the best fighter escorts on this mission. I took off from Schrunden air base as flight leader, turned to heading 075 and began long hard climb to 4500 m. Madjek and Evil close behind. Weather was clear and warm. Plane handled better than the ones back at training school. After 15 minutes changed heading to 080 and continued to climb. Seen some of our escorts flying close to us. Leveled out at 4500 m and than changed course to target with Madjek and Evil in bombing formation behind. Lined target up, left side of runway and dropped bombs. Madjek and Evil had trouble with their bomb sites so they turned to make another bomb run at the target. Missed target. I stayed with them for protection. THEN BANG took heavy flak hit and started to loose fuel fast. Turned and headed for our lines. Nearest air field was Kukkum, but intel said air field was flooded. Did not matter as we ran out of fuel!!!!!! And I felt we should bail out, I gave the order to bail out, One ,two, three, four, shoots ,we all got out safe. We were picked up by an old truck and took back to our base. It was a bumpy ride, but we had lots to drink and eat so it did not matter.

Pilot Name: I/KG26_MadJek Aircraft Type:JU-88A4 [Loadout 2xSC1000kg bombs 75% fuel] Target Duties:Destroy aircraft at Riga Airfield Targets Destroyed: 7 aircraft and 1 AAA gun Mission End Status: Landed at Frauenberg Points: 200
Mission Debriefing:
I took off from Frauenburg with a flight of 109’s in front of our Ju-88’s and 2 Ju-52’s behind. In front, in the 109’s, was Brown flight. Brown 1 was Abchirck, Brown 2 was Haubi, and Brown 3 was Pardauz. Brown 4 was a new pilot who just reported. In the Ju-88 flight; it was (1H-AL) Diesel, (1H-BL) myself, (1H-CL) Evil, and (1H-DL) MRUD.
After Taking off, the Ju-88’s formed up on Diesel and the bf-109’s headed off on their mission. That was the last I saw of Brown flight for the day. Diesel took us out on a 075’ heading and had us climb to 4500m. We continued our heading of 075’ for approximately 20 minutes. Fifteen minutes into the flight, I saw contacts approaching from our 2 o’clock. I saw their navigation lights and knew they had to be friendly. When the enemy got closer, I was able to identify them as JG2001_Doso (Black 4) and JG2001_Max (Black 3). I was certain I saw Max, because I glanced out of my port window when I heard the noise of an engine approaching. The bright red “tulip” on Max cowling showed up first followed by his smiling face. Then in a flash, I saw his Black 3. Shortly after Max’s aerobatics display, Diesel adjusted our heading to 080.’ We continued on this course until reaching 4500m. Just as we settled in at 4500m, I noticed the large concrete airfield in Riga at our 10 o'clock. I radioed to Diesel the location. We continued our course south of the airfield, flying almost parallel to it.
All the while we were doing this, the radio was humming with activity. It seems that Ivan sent up a strong force of planes today. All the fighters appeared to be very busy!
As we came closer to target, Diesel had us make a 90’ turn to the airfield, which was less than 10km away now. Evil and I made our turn with Diesel. I called down to my bombardier to see if he had picked up the airfield. He replied in the affirmative, but said the bombsight was out of whack and he needed some time for it to settle. I radioed Diesel with that information and heard Evil confirm that his bombsight was in the same predicament. I then heard Diesel confirm his bombs were away. I radioed to him that I was going to proceed past the target and head out into the Gulf of Riga. As I proceeded to do this, I notice large caliber flak bursts exploding all around my cockpit. Evil proceeded with me, and after approximately 10 km into the Gulf of Riga, we heard Alpha over the radio saying he was making his bomb run. He confirmed hits on the airfield saying he saw multiple explosions in the vicinity of parked VVS planes.
Shortly after this, Evil and I turned around and headed south to make our run on the airfield. I came to an approximate heading of 175.’ My bombardier began swearing saying that he forgot to change all of his setting on his bombsite and hurriedly did that. He called out his new settings for an altitude of 3800m with his IAS at 300, he set his TAS at 330. The plane was his now. As we came to target, I saw him moving knobs continuously. He was working at a fever pitch, when all of the sudden I felt the plane shudder and now knew our bombs had been released. My bombardier slammed his fist down in anger and swore! When I asked him what was wrong he said he set his TAS for 320 and didn’t think it was the correct speed. Just as he was saying this, our gunner yelled out hits, several hits! He said he saw the bombs hit near the parked aircraft and an AAA gun that had been firing.
We didn’t have much time to celebrate. I turned to head for home and keyed my mic to see how Evil was doing when I saw enemy contacts coming in. Alpha called them out as well. (Alpha was supporting our bomb run by drawing flak above us.) I slammed the throttle forward and tried to form up with Evil. I wanted get in as close as possible for gun support. As we were forming up, I heard our fighter boys say they were engaging the enemy fighters. They were all tangled up with them. Evil and I were running west, and didn’t see another enemy fighter the whole way home. Our escorts did an excellent job with the VVS planes.
Evil and I continued heading for home at Frauenburg, with Alpha still above us. We continued on our heading for about 10-15 minutes before losing altitude and coming up on our airfield. When we were close to the airfield, Evil and I decided to go around. Evil came in to land and I peeled off to begin my downwind leg. The evnets that transpired next were quick and unexpected. I looked out my left window to see Evil's plane spin on the runway then come to a stop. It looked like his gear had failed him. Alpha, who was on final approach behind Evil, waved off and went around for another approach. Alpha landed on his next pass, and I followed him in. As I climbed out of my plane, I heard the familiar hum of a bf-109. Just as I looked up, I saw Max fly by inverted. He was, of course, waving and smiling. But not for long, as we all heard over the radio that Loki and Raven were near Tukkum airfield fighting a lone VVS plane. Max flew off to assist in the fight. Just as Max pulled out of view, Alpha and I headed over to my tent. I had just received two very nice bottles of schnapps from back home. I’ll have to remind my family to send four instead of two next time.

Sunday 14th January Pilot Name: I/KG26_Alpha AircraftType: He111-H2 Target Duties: Riga Airfield Targets Destroyed: 7 fighters Mission End Status: Landed at Fraulenburg Points: 140 Mission Debriefing: I had been transfered to Schrunden again for this mission, they must like me flying the He111, today was a miserable sight though on the flight line an old H2 was sitting there with its engines running and the crew inside already checking their guns and not looking to happy at the sound from the old Jumos. The ground crew must have noticed our apprehension and simply smiled saying don't worry it'll get you there, and also back again. Even worse was our payload, gone were those big sc2000's today we were loaded with 2x250 & 8x50kg bombs, so the bombardier better have good eyes to day in the bombsite. The rest of my unit were at Fraulenburg in Ju88's, I was expecting to see them somewhere over Riga with any luck, so as I rolled down the strip the old H2 surprisingly felt light and responsive and was a pleasure to take out on a hdg of 72' and up to an alt of 5000m, the lighter payload certainly helped the performance but we needed to make it count on the ground targets with the smaller bombs. The route into Riga airspace was clear of enemy fighters as there were reports of fighters around in force the crew were twitchy on their gun stations, the bombsite was setup and bombardier called target in sight, I cleared the radio calling for Ju88's to update the airfield progress, the reply wasn't too good and i was cleared to hit the primary (left hand pad). The aircraft was buffeted around in the flak but the course held steady till bombs were announced "away", the bombardier looked over his shoulder at as if to say "for what its worth" with such a light payload. Surprisingly though as we egressed away from the target the gondola gunner announced primary hit, so it seems it was worth it after all. I spotted the Ju88's with fighter escorts in the Riga area, as I was at 5500m I held high cover on them drawing some 85mm flak as they made their bomb runs, the fighters cleared our RTB course as we egressed away and the Ivans were desperate to avenge the damage inflicted on Riga, Raven and Loki were doing a good job as I joined Evil and Madjek's Fraulenburg home course. Evil attempted a landing but suffered gear failure and was killed, I made a go around and landed safe with Madjek also touching down safely. Seems like we had a good flight but some bombsite work is needed for some of the crews. S!
