Pilot Name: I/KG26_Commish AircraftType: He-111H-6 Target Duties: Control Tower (Radio Truck) @ Tauroggen Targets Destroyed: none Mission End Status: Landed Safely Points: 0 Mission Debriefing: Departed Memel as #3 in flight led by Alpha with Evil as his #2. Maintained runway heading climbing at standard rate at 100% throttle and 100% prop pitch. Maintained runway heading for approximately five minutes and adjusted course to a southerly heading continuing our climb to altitude 4000 meters engaging supercharger stage 2 at 3800 meters. When approximatey WNW of target, adjusted course to target heading as directed by flight leader. Adjusted formation on target approach and lined up on radio truck assignment. Bombsite set at 4000m and TAS of 330. Through either equipment malfunction or operator error, automated bombsite tracking failed Requested permission to initiate low-level attack on target and was granted same. Dropped to the deck, lined up on radio truck to discover that bombs had been released at altitude by automated bombsite. Departed target area at heading 270 (grumbling bitterly to myself) and ascended to 2000 meters to friendly territory. Adjusted heading to 340 and egressed to Memel with A.I. in tow. Observed minimal enemy fighter aircraft at target. No enemy air activity other than that on target ingress or egress.

Pilot Name:IKG26_Evil AircraftType:HE-111-H6/2-SC2000/50%-fuel Target Duties:Tauroggen/Airfield/aircraft Targets Destroyed:1 enemy a/c/4 static a/c Mission End Status:Landed at Memel Points:280 Mission Debriefing: Todays flight consisted of 4 HE-111/H6 ,was second in flight with Alpha as lead and Commish #3.Target for the day was Tauroggen Airfield.I was assigned the aircraft tht was parked on the pads.Take off was routine and formed on leader. Our altitude for the target was going to be 4000m.We agressed on a 105 degree heading roughly to the target. No enemy aircraft was sighted on the way to target.Alpha did a very good job leading us to target as the airport was sighted at 12 oclock ,we all went to the bombsite and set up for our designated targets.Bombsite alt was 4000m and TAS was 330 with airspeed being 270k.Had some trouble adjusting for the target, once aquired i hit automation and bombs released.Heard over the radio Alpha had dropped but Commish was having trouble with his site so he went in for a low level run.I regrouped with Alpha and we circled the target till we knew Commish was headed out of the area.Alpha took us up to 5500m for the return trip home.We kept in radio contact with Commish and he made it out of the target area safe with mionor damage (fuel leak).Flight home was uneventfull with Alpha and i landing at Memel and Commish landing soon after. Great mission guys

Pilot Name: I/KG26_Alpha AircraftType: He111H-6 Target Duties: Tauroggen A/F AAA Targets Destroyed: 3 x AAA 4 x A/c Mission End Status: Landed At Airfield Points: 260
Mission Debriefing:
As flight leader of He111H-6's from Memel Evil and Commish were No 2 & No3 with Dumass Klinkernutz as No4.
We took off after the Bf109's were airborne and egressed on r/way hdg 135' for 6 mins untill reports of enemy bombers at Tilsit came in, so i swung the flight to 180' hdg for 5 mins to climbout to 2500m. After alt 2500m we turned approx 105' and climbed out to target alt 4000m heading to Tauroggen. As we crosed the front line supercharger stage 2 was kicked in but to no effect at 3500m after some more climbing we go it working at 3800m and soon leveled off at 4000m 270kph ias. Evil was hiting parked a/c and Commish was tasked with the control tower/radio after and assured request he knew where it was at the a/f. As we got in the bombsites it was bad news the base targets were clouded in and enemy a/c were landing, so I bombed blind using the recon info as my only source of target aquisition. Just as i hit bombsite automation the target popped through the clouds and bingo bombs away in the last second, pulling hard right out of the 85mm flak I turned to see Evils bombs get away and his report of a good hit. In fact he bombed a landing Pe2 and static a/c just as my crew reported flak target hit and some static a/c
Commish requested a low bomb run as he had problems with his bombsite, he made a low pass but had to egress quickly due to his bombs releasing too early, with minor flak damage Commish manged to get out of the remaining flak85 and we egressed on a aprox 270-300@ hdg.
Evil and I were up at 5500m and Commish some what lower the trip home was uneventful until 2 bogeys were spotted East of memel a/f, much to our relief it was JG26_Cowboy and his wingman, then after a few minutes more the JG26 were turning up from thier mission as we requested landing protocol from the tower, I landed then Evil with Commish making a good landing, from what I could see over my shoulder as I pushed open the club house door with schnapps wafting acroos the air dragging me in further. A good mission with some excellent formation flying.

Pilot Name: I/KG26 DIESEL Aircraft Type: Ju 88 A-4 1941 IH+CL Target Duties: ENEMY SUPPY TRUCKS, FLAK GUNS AND TANKS Targets Destroyed:1Car Mission End Status: Landed Safe Points: 25
Mission Debriefing: Second combat mission with rookie crew. Got into the air, how I do not know, plane was heavy on the controls. Had 2-2000 lb SC Bombs. 50 % Fuel. Weather was nice and followed flight leader to altitude. On the way to target ran into migs and Raven hammered two of them and the rest ran for it. Raven had to return to base as he got hit hard too. Flight Leader found targets. Drew flak as other Ju 88,s attacked targets. Waited as I was ordered to and than had my turn. Large group of enemy tanks. Flew over the tanks and dropped my bombs and missed, got only one car. Think it had a General in it. Took flak hits and lost a lot of fuel. Lost my left elevator. Given the all clear and was lucky to land. As I touched down seen 109 in front of me and just missed him. He was good pilot and was able to get out my. Think I must be lucky.

Pilot Name: I/KG26_MadJek AircraftType:JU-88A4 [Loadout 2x250kg & 28x50kg bombs 50% fuel] Target Duties:Attack Schaulen Aerodrome & Provide Flak cover for 2nd flight attacking Tanks in Kelmen Targets Destroyed:1 radio car Mission End Status: Landed at Tilsit Aerodrome Points: 25
Mission Debriefing:
Took off from Tilsit aerodrome as #3 in I/KG26_Redcoat's flight. Our flight's task today was to support I/KG26_Raven's flight in there run on reported tanks in the town of Kelmen, then attack the aerodrome at Schaulen. Our two flights formed up nicely and headed northeast towards Kelmen. As we got formed up, we unintentionally flew over Touroggen Aerodrome and encountered heavy caliber flak at approximately 2500 meters. We all began to weave to avoid the flak. As we almost cleared the flak, I/KG26_Diesel called out hits on his crate. Upon further inspection by his crew, he radioed that he was okay and continued on towards the target. As our flights continued towards Kelmen, a call came over the radio from two pilots in the JG26, Migs were heading west towards our current location. We went into a holding pattern, until the area was given the "all clear." However, shortly after this, we spotted the two Migs approaching at high speed. I/KG26_Redcoat called for the flights to head 180 degrees and open up the throttles to full. As we did this, the first of two migs began attacking I/KG26_Raven. Raven's rear gunner made several successful hits and got the Ivan smoking. We continued south as the Migs continued to attack Raven. His gunner again made successful hits on the approaching Mig. The Migs had enough of I/KG26_Raven's ace gunner and broke off to lick their wounds. I/KG26_Raven called out damage to his engines and that he was leaking fuel. Raven turned his crate around and attacked Tourrogen Aerodrome on his way back to base. Meanwhile, we continued up to Kelmen. Myself and I/KG26_Redcoat stayed around 2000m following the MSR looking for tanks. I/KG26_Diesel and his wingman were lower doing the same thing. As we approached Kelmen a single I-16 flew past our formation heading west. He did not seem interested in us at the moment. We proceeded towards the target. Looking out my starboard window, I noticed two small caliber AAA guns fire up at our formation. One was just to the south west of the bridge in a central park area as the other was across the river on the northeast side of the river. Both guns opened up on our formation. I/KG26_Redcoat and I made a left turn to begin drawing the flak for I/KG26_Diesel. As we did this, my rear gunner started to yell out "Indianner!" The I-16 that passed by us earlier must have looped back around! I continued to circle as my rear gunner tried his luck at getting hits on him. The I-16 made two or three passes on me, hitting my starboard engine and wing as I tried to give my crate full throttle and outrun him. I went into a slow dive to increase speed. I lost him, until again I heard my rear gunner yell! I headed northeast at full throttle trying again to outrun him, when my navigator yelled that a friendly fighter was in the area. I then tried to put my crate in a slow left hand turn to drag him for the fighter pilot. Shortly after this we saw the plane go straight in from hits by the fighter pilot. As the fighter broke of, we all recognized the "S" signifying JG26. From the markings on the plane we all recognized it as the Experten "JG26_Scannon" We all agreed when we got back to base, he would be getting a few drinks from us! As this was going on, I/KG26_Diesel was locating the tanks in Kelmen and was able to make his run on the tanks. He called out hits on the tanks, but said he did not get all that were there. I/KG_Redcoat then called out for our flight to drop our 250kg bombs on the tanks then look to continue with our mission to Schaulen. I/KG26_Redcoat made his run and I came right after him. As I was getting ready to drop I saw large plums of smoke and dirt flying up all around the target. In the confusion, I dropped my bombs long. With my starboard engine smoking my flight leader said to make another run on the tanks with my 50kg bombs then head for home. I lined up and dropped several bombs on the target area without success. I circled as I/KG26_Redcoat made a run on the target to take a recon picture. After having done this we headed southwest towards Touroggen. We agreed to drop important bridges on the way back to the front lines. I dropped the bridge in sector P8 and in N6. I/KG26_Redcoat went farther east and took down a rail bridge. After taking down the bridge I flew by the Tourroggen Aerodrome. I noticed the radio tower still up. I also saw that there were ground explosions near the airport. It looked like friendly artillery fire. I then made my run on the tower and dropped a short string of 50kg bombs on it taking it out. I then noticed a large caliber flak gun over by some parked aircraft in the eastern side of the runway. At the same time I/KG26_Redcoat showed up. I Made a pass on the gun, but was out of bombs. I then headed for home leaving I/KG26_Redcoat to destroy the remaining targets. As I left Touroggen, my starboard engine quit on me. I got the prop feathered and my plane in order before making my approach on the Tilsit runway. I was able to land it and get my crew back home. Drinks were had by all as we toasted the Experten JG26_Scannon for saving our hide today.

Pilot Name: Redcoat AircraftType: Ju88 Target Duties:Flak support at Kelemen Targets Destroyed: 3 tanks, 2 cars. bridges Mission End Status: RTB'd safely Points: 190 Mission Debriefing: Took the lead of the JU88 second (light) flight armed with 2x250&28x50, along with Madjek as number 3, supporting Raven and Deisel in the lead flight with the 2000kg bombs.
We took off with me in the lead, zigzagging to allow the flight to catch up.
On route, we passed east of Tauroggen to give any flak a wide berth, and inadvertantly overflew the airfield instead. Deisel got a hole somewhere, but no seroius damage or leaks.
As we approached Kelemen at O7, Ez reproted migs heading west out of O8. I ordered the flight to orbit and wait for the nme fighters to get clear, but as we were about to finish circling to head north to target, I noticed a pair of migs appear from the north. I ordered the flight to head south at max power. Unfortunalty, Raven was closest to the migs, and the made 2 attacks each on him, resulting in both nme aircraft smoking heavily, which then headed away. I asked Raven to assess and report his damage, which was a fuel leak and a badly damaged engine, so I suggested he head south, overflying Tauroggen airfield and use his bombs there in support of the HE111s before heading home.
I turned the flight back north, running into target at 2-2500m and Madjek and I began to circle and draw flak, though I broke low to spot for Deisel. I spotted tanks clustered at an elbow in the road, in the suburbs south of Kelemen town, and marked for him. He made a drop which was a tad long, destroying just one tank. He made a second run to try to get his AI to drop, but this was unsuccessful. He then RTB'd due to damage. While this was going on, a I16 showed up and started attacking Madjek. He took some damage to an engine, and could have been serious if Scannon and wingman hadnt showed up and shot it down. I realised any secondry targets would now have to wait, and I made a run in on the tank group, dropping my 250kgs, followed in by Madjek. He then made a second run using a few 50s, but to no avail, so I decided to rtb, hitting bridges on route.
I dropped the bridge in P8 (road) and Madjek dropped the bridge in N6 ( I think), while I detoured south slightly to hit the road and rail bridges in O6. I rejoined Madjek over Tauroggen airfield, where he had already identified aa guns and the control tower with radio car, which he destroyed. He ran out of bombs and rtb'd nursing a damaged engine which later quit, and made a good single engine landing back at base. At Tauroggen, I destroyed a static aircraft, and a tracked AA vehicle . Out of bombs, I rtbd and landed back safe.I took this pic on leaving, and it shows the vehicles left standing at Kelemen target. Even so, with a lot of key bridges destroyed or damaged, they wont be on route to the front for sometime. Deisel, Raven and Madjek did extremely well, under a lot of pressure they kept their heads, Raven fending off two enemy aircraft, Deisel for taking the time to setup for a better approach for his bombdrop despite enemy aircraft in the vicinity, and Madjek for all of the above, and his great tactical awareness. And Scannon gets a case of beer for his timely appearance. The 7th Cav couldnt have done better.
